Specialised German Courses B2-C1

Language Courses & Intercultural Seminars

In times of globalization and digitalization, smooth communication is the key to success. Especially in the healthcare sector, error-free oral and written communication is of utmost importance. That is why we offer modular and sector-specific German courses with a focus on medical terminology for medical institutions such as hospitals, surgeries, pharmacies, care facilities and authorities that employ international professionals.

The aim is to impart linguistic and intercultural competence to make your employees fit for formal and informal (professional) communication. The specific course content is determined entirely according to your wishes. You determine the duration, timing and scope. We draw up a lesson plan tailored to your previous knowledge and main topics, which will quickly lead you to your goal.

Based on four steps, we work with you to develop a program tailored to your needs and, if necessary, advise you on financial support from the federal government and the EU:

1. identification

The first step is to identify the training needs of your employees. Together with you, we determine the competences to be promoted, for example:

- (Technical) vocabulary repertoire

- Grammar

- Pronunciation

- Written expression

- Intercultural aspects

Furthermore, a focus on specific areas can be made:

- Oral and written, formal or informal communication with patients and residents as well as relatives.

- Oral and written, formal or informal professional communication with colleagues or employees

2. conception

The second step is the creation of the curriculum, taking into account operational and personal requirements. In doing so, the courses can be configured on the basis of various parameters, including:

- Selection and compilation of relevant course modules in terms of content.

- Determining the format: individual or group course

- Determination of intensity: full-time or part-time course

- Choice of location: on your premises (in-house lessons), on our premises in Nuremberg (face-to-face lessons) or as an online language course via video conference (virtual classroom)

In addition, we will support you in selecting and applying for financial subsidies. These are usually provided by Germany or the EU and can cover large parts of the costs incurred.

3. implementation

The third step is the organization and implementation of the previously agreed course plan. Our certified lecturers for German in medicine and healthcare have years of experience in teaching subject-specific content. In doing so, the teachers pay attention to balanced teaching that focuses on promoting the competences defined in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). General and professional language skills are taught using an action-oriented approach, which ensures that participants can smoothly transfer what they have learned into their everyday working lives.

In addition, there is the possibility of involving specialist lecturers from the practice in the lessons. They have many years of experience as doctors, dentists, pharmacists or nursing staff and can therefore convey professionally relevant content in an authentic way. In addition to the technical language content, other aspects of the respective profession can also be dealt with here that could be of importance for the course participants (e.g. health care system, health insurance system, everyday clinical life).

4. Evaluation

The examination of the acquired competences forms the fourth component of the successful completion of the program. For this purpose, participants can take a telc examination and, if they pass, receive a language certificate according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The two examination formats "telc German B2/C1 Medizin" and "telc German B1/B2 Pflege", which are designed for medical professions, can be taken. Our institute is licensed as a telc examination center, so that you can obtain all the services offered from one source.

For your institution, telc certificates have the advantage that the language skills of your employees can be measured, which is an incentive both for the course participants and for us as the course provider. This means that if you pass the exam successfully, you can be sure that your employees are well prepared for communicative situations thanks to their participation in our course.

Furthermore, telc certificates are also a prerequisite for professional recognition in Germany. For example, foreign nursing staff who have previously worked as nursing assistants can be employed as nursing specialists after passing the examination and gaining recognition.
