Placement of International Medical Specialists
The ever-increasing shortage of specialists is one of the greatest risks for healthcare in Germany. Various factors, such as demographic change, are further exacerbating the situation.
Overcoming the shortage of specialists is therefore a top priority in the German healthcare system. In this context, the search for international specialists is one of the most frequently mentioned measures by those responsible in German hospitals and care facilities in order to be able to guarantee optimal healthcare for patients in the future.
This is where we come in and place vacancies in the healthcare sector. Due to our primary activity in the specialized education sector, we have a large network of course participants and facilities of all kinds (hospitals, medical practices, pharmacies, care facilities, authorities, etc.). We use this network to mediate between international specialists and institutions when jobs are available. In this way, we aim to reduce recruitment problems and offer motivated professionals an opportunity in Germany.
Our Possibilities
We can offer the following job placement options:
- Permanent employment (permanent or temporary)
- Practice succession (taking over a practice as the new owner)
- Work shadowing or internship (during the ongoing recognition procedure, i.e. in addition to attending the course to deepen language skills and contribute professional expertise)
We are in regular contact with our partners and are constantly enquiring about new vacancies. We are proud of the fact that many a course participant has found their first job in Germany with our support immediately after passing their specialist language exam.
We accompany our participants from the first contact to the job interview and the first few weeks in their new job. We are always at their side and support them with all kinds of issues in their new working environment. Our aim is for the job placement to be beneficial for everyone involved.
Job placement is free of charge for private individuals and employees. For institutions and employers, we charge a placement fee for permanent positions or practice successions. In the case of internships and work shadowing placements, we generally provide placement services free of charge for both parties. If this is followed by a permanent position, we charge the employer a placement fee.
Our Advantages
We are first and foremost an educational institute, so our focus is on the learning success and long-term social integration of our course participants. We see job placement as a useful addition to our core activities, as it allows us to network two sides that are already looking for each other.
Our aim is to strengthen the healthcare system in Germany in the long term and at the same time enable motivated professionals to integrate successfully in Germany. In this respect, we make a special effort to make our participants so competent in (specialist) languages that they can provide real added value in their day-to-day work and contribute optimally to their team.
Our language instructors are certified experts in German in the healthcare sector, each with specializations in the fields of human medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or nursing. Our courses therefore teach not only general German, but also specialist medical language. Our participants are competently prepared for the demanding specialist language examination (FSP), which they must pass for professional recognition in Germany. The aim is to achieve smooth oral and written communication with colleagues, patients and relatives.
The lessons are supplemented by specialist lecturers from the field, who often work in a managerial capacity and make their teaching correspondingly challenging. Everyday clinical practice is practiced in group work and simulations. In addition, participants gain valuable insights beyond the language lessons (e.g. healthcare system, health insurance).
Thanks to our many years of experience and a curriculum tailored to practical requirements, we competently bring our participants up to the required language level with which they can obtain professional recognition in Germany (e.g. specialist language examination for medical practitioners) and start work as a fully-fledged team member.
We reliably bring our course participants up to a high C1 language level (academic healthcare professions) or B2 language level (healthcare professions). The respective language level is certified by language examinations from external providers to confirm that the language skills have actually been acquired and can be used (e.g. specialist language examination of the state chambers or telc examinations according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Our courses are financially supported by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), the Federal Employment Agency (BA), the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI). This enables us to realize adequate course durations of 6 months full-time per level. In this way, we can ensure that our course participants actually reach the required language level. We do not consider hasty intensive general language courses lasting just a few weeks to be effective in this demanding field.
Most of our course participants have already practiced in their home countries and therefore bring a considerable amount of experience with them. They also provide new perspectives and methods to complement established processes, which many colleagues have already come to appreciate.
